Regular Member
Professionals actively employed in industry, academia, government, or consulting related to pharmaceutical sciences.

Student Member
Full-time students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, and majoring in a field related to pharmaceutical science. Student members must be prepared to verify their enrollment and field of study through a dean, department chair, or other authority upon request.

Postdoctoral Fellow
Individuals who are conducting research after the completion of their doctoral studies (for example, a Ph.D., M.D., or Pharm.D.).

Retired Member
Professionals who are retired from employment in industry, academia, government, or consulting, related to pharmaceutical science.

Special Categories


Transitional Member
Professionals who are retired from employment in government, industry, or academia (or a consulting position connected to the former) related to pharmaceutical science; who have at least 25 years of continuous AAPS membership; and who are age 70 or older. Retired Emeritus Status
Active AAPS members who are unemployed at the time of renewal, or becomes unemployed up to 90 days after their membership expires, may apply for transitional membership to delay membership renewal costs while maintaining membership.
